National Family Week

Who do you consider family? I don't have that many blood relatives but as years go by there are quite a few people that I would consider family.

What did I learn this past week?

  • Last week was the Austin Lindy Exchange. The tag line was " Experience it again as if it's your first time". I have to say that the first time was way better. All of a sudden a sensor has been placed on almost all activities. This is a dance that is supposed to be raw. What happened to that? It seems like all the soul and personality has been sucked out of it.
  • The plumbing in my house is on strike. The toilets refuse to flush after the shower has been running. I am hoping that I can get by with treating the pipes with the tree root removal stuff.

Projects!
  • Sewing: Still working on those pants.
  • Baking: I made fudgy brownies. I think this may be this years Christmas gift. Way less time consuming than real fudge.

Children's Book Week

What did I learn this past week?

  • Carnell Pipkin passed away. He was a small man with the biggest heart a person could ever have.
  • Once again I made the trek to east Texas for yet another riveting meeting.
  • My leg is feeling better. It's looking less scary
  • I went to Stitch on Saturday. I have yet to write up my thoughts on the event.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I am still working on 2 pairs of jeans. I got side tracked by an art project
  • Soul Cleansing: I went back to my roots. I went to a memorial service in Houston on Saturday and reminded why I felt more at home there.

National Care Week

What did I learn this past week?

  • Girls Night Out + cute waiter + Margaritas = FUN
  • I found a remote for the DVD player. Unfortunately there is no way to turn the DVD player on and off with the remote.
  • My knee still hurts. The skin on my left leg is flaking off below my knee now. It's kind of spooky.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I started working on 2 pairs of Jeans. They are almost done. My sewing machine decided that it was in dire need of oiling in order to work.
  • Baking: I made Chocolate Cupcakes. I am trying to increase the chocolate content.

International Magic Week

What did I learn this past week?

  • Savers has a lot of great Halloween bargains. I found fairie wings for $5
  • I like making costumes more than I like Halloween
  • I was once again reminded that I don't like people. Once an introvert always an introvert
  • I am waiting for my knee to stop hurting. Just when I think all is well, it isn't.
  • I do not have a remote for the dvd player that was gifted to me last year. I was gifted a TV last week so I finally set up the dvd player
  • Entourage is almost worth subscribing to cable for
Projects!
  • Sewing: I made 2 new handbags and pouch for my fairie costume
