Food and Drug Interaction Education and Awareness Week

Once again I am late with the update...
Here's what happened since the last update

  • My knee was in extreme pain, my leg decided to swell and turn red. My doctor thought is was a bacterial infection and prescribed some pretty heavy antibiotics. Things appear to be better. I probably should have skipped out on the dancing this weekend.
  • I sold 2 guitars for my co-worker. I'm getting a 10% commission.
  • I spent the week in Dallas at a QA Conference. I learned a bunch and ended up spending many hours in front of the TV at night to balance it all out.
  • I finally got the check from the bank so I could pay off my car.
  • Fabric shopping on Perth Street was a good idea. I got a good deal on black linen.
  • I love my new car. I went on my first road trip.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I did a last minute hem job on a skirt.
  • Soul Cleansing: I spent the weekend in Dallas with friends.

National Fire Prevention Week

What did I learn this past week?

  • I went out dancing 4 nights in a row. I thought that I had messed up my knee in the process but in fact I did not (I will tell you about that next week).
  • I solved the mystery of why my car loan check had not arrived. The bank has some severe communication issues. I finally got them to talk directly to my insurance company and get the information they needed.
  • Deja vu. On Thursday afternoon, myself and 3 of my co-workers made the same complaints during our performance evaluation. Unfortunately, I work for the government and changes are unlikely to be made.
Projects!
  • Sewing: the black dress-a-thon is over. I will be making the matching hand bags for the dresses in the weeks to come. I made a pattern last week and dropped off the last load of clothes to the massage therapist.

Customer Service Week

What did I learn this past week?

  • My bank had not received the insurance binder for my car. This meant that I didn't get my loan check. This means that the car dealership keeps calling me asking where the check is. The bank was sent an insurance binder in early September, they lost it. Then I had my insurance people send another one, which the bank claims they never received. I had another binder faxed and hoped for the best that my check would be in the mail.
  • It is more fun to clean other people's houses. I have been helping my friend's family clean their garage. For them it is a bunch of junk preventing them from putting a car in the garage. For many others it was treasure. I managed to get a few framed pictures, a rubbermaid tub, and a turntable.
  • I can fit a lot of stuff in my car. I did 2 runs to Goodwill and a run to Half Price Books. How did I go so long without a hatchback
Projects!
  • Sewing: I made 2 knit shirts and another shirt for the massage therapist. I did a little more work on the black dresses.
  • Purging: I have been going through the house and garage looking for stuff that I don't need. I figured that I should do it because I cleaned Joy's garage.
