my bad...

So I neglected to write last week. It was more laziness than busyness.

What did I learn these past two weeks?

  • I went to a Paul and Sharon Workshop in Dallas. I was reminded why I like dancing and maybe I should get out more.
  • I've been researching the Honda Fit again. I don 't want to dump anymore money into my car.
  • I had new toilets installed. I love them.
  • I found fabric mecca in Dallas. Harry Hines and Perth Street is where to go. I found linen for $6 and Cotton for $2.
  • I am still looking for shoes. I am hoping that I don't have to resort to buying online (I've been burned by that before. Restocking fees, etc...)
Projects!
  • Sewing: custom work is in progress. The mockup worked out so I cut out 5 pairs of pants.

National Theraputic Recreation Week

This last weekend I took time out to do something I hadn't done in a very long time. I went out dancing. Not just dancing but I attended the Austin Blues Party. 3 nights of dancing. I had friends in town so I was motivated to leave my house.

What did I learn this past week?

  • It is still virtually impossible to buy shoes in my size. With kids being so much larger these days, you would think that I could easily go out and find a shoe in size 11.
  • Another item on the endangered species list is Laundered cotton sheeting. The custom job I am working on requires it and I can't find it anywhere.
  • I found Neem Oil at Whole Foods. Boy does it smell bad. I looked up it's properties and it can be used as an herbicide.
  • I spent quality time with Megan at Costco on Saturday.
Projects!
  • Sewing: more silkscreening. The little black dress is done. I made a pattern for the custom pants.
  • Yard: I mowed on Sunday and I edged. Not too bad for someone who was out until the wee hours of morning.

Be nice to New Jersey Week

What have I learned this past week?

  • I went to the herb bar and learned more about my skin issues. Apparently Pau d' arco Tea and the candida diet should help. We shall see about that.
  • My light fixture was on a suicide mission. I had to take it down from the ceiling before it jumped.
  • I installed my new mailbox. It looks really good. I injured my finger trying to get it in to the ground, but that comes with the territory.
  • I bought new toilets. The City of Austin has a rebate program for the purchase of High Efficiency toilets.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I was working on my little black dress. I have another custom sewing gig. I repaired my bookbag and I cleaned my sewing area.
  • House: I took down a light fixture and painted the ceiling. I have had no luck finding replacement fixtures yet. New potties will be installed this week.
