National Salad week

FYI.
1) Just because I am a vegetarian does not mean that I live off of salad.
2) A salad is NOT an entree.

What did I learn this past week?

  • Since I took up dancing again I am now aware of the fact that I need new shoes. Good footwear is extremely important.
  • I went to Texarkana, TX for work last week and learned about the Clean River's projects going on in that area.
  • I was reminded that airports are a great place for people watching.
Projects!
  • Website: Nothing completed.
  • Sewing: I made a pair of pants this weekend.
  • Yard: It was getting really fluffy so I finally broke down and mowed. I also discovered that there is one tomato on the vine.
  • Soul cleansing: Still trying to get out of town. 208 hours of vacation at my disposal.

Restless Leg Syndrome Education and Awareness Week

I had no clue that this existed. For more information click here.

What did I learn this past week?

  • My theory that a more fulfilling job would lead to lower productivity after work may be true. Work is actually tiring me out. They are keeping me pretty busy. I think my old boss may have tipped them off to the fact that if I was kept busy I would be too distracted to look for work elsewhere.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I dyed some fabric this weekend to make a new bookbag.
  • Yard: I should probably mow soon. The tomato plants have perked up a little with all the rain we have been getting.
  • Soul Cleansing: vacation planning is in the works. More later.

Take Charge of Change Week

Personally, I am a big fan of change. There are still quite a few things on my personal to do list but I think that I will have a better handle on that now that I have reached job #12. Finally I have gotten my professional life in gear and hopefully things in my personal life will get straightened out.

What did I learn last week?

  • I learned a whole lot about "the process". Job #12 has procedures for everything (which is nice). As much as I enjoy having free reign over something its nice to have a little consistency.
Projects!
  • Sewing: I had to take apart my sewing machine. I was working on some pillows made out of microsuede-ish fabric and microfiber and the machine started eating thread. The pillows are done. One of these days I will take pictures.
  • Yard: Burninated... I have given up on trying to water. It rained a fair bit the other day but I don't think it's enough to save the tomato plants.
  • Website: I was supposed to be learning PHP but someone out there has been TOO busy.

Air Conditioning Appreciation Week

It is beyond hot outside. I had to cave and start running the A/C in my car.

What did I learn this past week?

  • I had very little to wrap up during my last week at job #12. If it weren't for the fact that the web developer people didn't have there stuff together early in the week I would have had NOTHING to do on Thursday.
  • My website is a little broken. I tried to fix it last week and had no luck.

Projects!
  • Website: I was working on a little project and learned some pretty cool CSS mouseover tricks.
  • Sewing: I finished another pair of capris pants and a skirt. I am currently working on some throw pillows then it is back to clothing once again. I am thinking about starting my own clothing line.
  • Yard: I am about to give up. I lost 2 of the 4 tomato plants to drought-like conditions.
