Sky Awareness week

Take some time out to appreciate the fluffy clouds and remember that even though somedays it appears as if the sky might fall down, it's firmly held up.

What did I learn this past week?

  • It took about 7 hours to unbraid my hair and about 7 more to have it rebraided. This time things went much better with the rebraiding. The place I went to was called Charms.
  • I am in the process of taking my second sewing class. FirstSamples is offering a class on working with knits called "The Sundress". I have been avoiding knits because my sewing machine has a habit of chewing the fabric.
  • I discovered that there has been a rash of "trendy sewing centers" opening up in town. I haven't had time to check them out yet. I need to get past their websites (I am not impressed with their web design choices).
  • One of the flourescent lights in my kitchen is on the blink right now. I am thinking about replacing the ugly fixture since I have to take the thing apart in order to change the lightbulbs.
  • I saw Tapes 'n Tapes and the Harlem Shakes on Saturday. The Emo's sound guy came close to spoiling the evening.
Projects!
  • Yard: my co-worker has been smuggling me plants from her yard as part of this year's round of low-impact gardening.
  • Sewing: The skirt and vest are still in progress. I am debating how to finish them off. In honor of Earth Day I started working on converting a pair of jeans into a skirt.
