National New Friends, Old Friends Week
So what did I learn this past week?
- I found an effective and safe way to kill ants in my kitchen. I made homemade ant traps out of yogurt lids filled with a mixture of corn syrup and boric acid. The sugar ants swarmed around the tasty (and deadly delight) for a day or so and I haven't seen them since.
- Control. I have been advocating for a change in perspective around the office lately. People are spending more time on trying to figure out the things that we have no control over. What really needs to happen is a strategic plan for what we can accomplish and then move on from there. Or in the case of someone who works for the man, its important to list what you are able to do to avoid having extraneous work dumped on you.
- Onesies have great graphics on them. The art is clear and uncomplicated (for the most part). I bought a few at Goodwill to make patches to put on a skirt made out of some old pants.
- Sewing: Megan has contracted me to make her professional back-to-school wardrobe. I finished a skirt and 2 pairs of pants. I have one pair of pants left to go. I would have been done but I decided to make 2 pairs of pants for myself.
- Websites: only procrastination. I need to continue purging stuff for the move to the new server.
- Spinsta: My "war and peace" yoga bags are done. I need to find a source of cheap cargo pants to make more.
